Michael Heatley edited the acclaimed History of Rock partwork (1981-84). He is the author of over one hundred music biographies, ranging from Bon Jovi to Rolf Harris, as well as books on sport and TV. His acclaimed biography of late, great DJ John Peel sold over 100,000 copies.He has penned liner notes to more than two hundred CD reissues, and written for magazines including MusicWeek, Billboard Goldmine, Radio Times and the Mail on Sunday colour supplement. Heatley also plays bass in blues band Funkee Clawed.
