Product Information

Dennis Cometti is one of the best known and most respected sportscasters in Australia. He began his broadcasting career in his hometown of Perth and moved to Melbourne in 1970 to work at 3DB and play football for Footscray. Injury forced him to hang up his boots and he returned to Perth where over the years he has worked at 6PR and the ABC, commentating on Test cricket alongside the great Alan McGilvray. In 1986, Dennis joined the Seven Network and called AFL matches around the country as well as covering two Commonwealth Games and the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics. Now with Channel Nine, he has the reputation of being the most distinctive, eloquent and beloved football commentators the game has ever known. The Age's Jon Pierik has been a football fan since he was old enough to see over the boundary fence. He has been a sports journalist for major metropolitan newspapers for more than a decade, and understands what makes the game great - and why it inspires fine journalism.
