John Buchanan was the coach of the most successful Australian cricket team in history. He first achieved acclaim as the coach of the Queensland Bulls, and later guided the Australian cricket team to two World Cup titles in 2003 and 2007. In early 2008 he was appointed coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, one of the eight teams competing in the IPL's new Twenty20 tournament.
